The Explorers are a division of The Boy Scouts Of America. We welcome all young men and women to join our ranks. The Exploring program was designed to help young people between the ages of 14 to 21. It gives them exposure to a career in which they would be interested in pursuing.

Liberty Fire Company Explorer Post 517 consists of many potential firefighters.

Every year, Post 517 joins together with Boyertown Ambulance Post 525, Gilbertsville Ambulance Post 332, and with other emergency service Explorer Posts to conduct the annual Emergency Response Explorers Weekend or EREW.

The Explorers arrive Friday evening, at which time they are briefed on their responsibilities. They will receive calls that the advisors arranged for them. The calls can range from search and rescue, vehicle accidents, structure fires, and wires down. The training weekend lasts until Sunday afternoon.

The Explorer Post has yielded many benefits to the fire companies in our area. It has provided many competent firefighters, chiefs and other officers to the fire service. Some of our past explorers are now professional firefighters and emergency medical technicians with departments in the area.

If you are interested in joining The Liberty Fire Company Explorer Post, or if you have any questions regarding the program. Call our station at 610-369-3777, or stop by on a Monday night between 7pm and 9pm. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have or help you fill out an application to join.
